The Beatles
Exclusive Beatles controllers were designed for The Beatles: Rock Band for each band member, like John Lennon’s Rickenbacker 325, Paul McCartney’s unique Hofner bass, George Harrison’s Gretsch Duo, and Ringo’s black oyster pearl Ludwig drum kit. The game can also be played with standard Rock Band or Guitar Hero instruments.
One of the game’s best features is Story Mode, where your journey to stardom will lead you to venues like the riotous Cavern Club to the colossal Shea Stadium. Real video and photo content can be unlocked to offer a glimpse into the youthful energy and excitement felt by rising stars throughout their career, and several dream sequences put players in the famous Abbey Road Studios to recreate some of the group’s most intimate career experiences.
The game introduces a new vocal harmony feature to the Rock Band series, allowing players to choose either the lead vocal or harmony part. Players can even switch between singing lead and harmony vocals mid-song, as long as all parts are covered. The introduction of three vocal parts in addition to guitar, bass, and drums allows for up to six people to play The Beatles: Rock Band on the Wii simultaneously.
The game is packed with 45 songs spanning across twelve albums recorded between 1962-1969, with audio taken straight from the real studio masters. Many additional tracks not included with the game disc can be purchased in the form of downloadable content at the in-game Music Store for Wii to add to game’s already fantastic catalog, including full albums like “Rubber Soul” and The Beatles’ epic swan song release, “Abbey Road.”
With dozens of the super-group’s biggest hits and tons of epic moments throughout their history, The Beatles: Rock Band for Wii is a great way for both seasoned fans and newcomers to experience the music of the group that redefined music itself.
